Bet on the player or the team winning the match. It is the most frequently used bet |
| Odds | Ratio between the stake and the gain of a bet; they are set by the bookmaker (or by the players on the betting exchange) |
| Over/Under | Bets on the number of points or goals of two teams or players |
| Payoff | Amount paid if the bet is a winner. This payment comprises the initial stake and the net gain |
| Proposition bet | Bet on a specific outcome or action: number of touchlines or corners, half-time winner, number of aces... |
| Multiple bets | Bets on different matches or events. The bettor wins only if all the bets are won. |
| Single bet ou straight bet | Bet on a single match or event |

| Surebet | Particular combination of bets on different sites of bookmakers allowing a gain without risks, no matter the outcome of the match or event.
